Bandai Namco has released a new Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve trailer that expands its story and confirms the return of Annihilation Battle. The game retains its October 2, 2026, release date for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
The footage shows everyday life aboard the carrier Endurance during the war against Sotoa and pits Joker Flight, led by the Wings of Theve, against the elite Shadows Unit and its ace Shadow 22. The campaign sends the squadron against both rival pilots and enormous superweapons.
Annihilation Battle appears in Mission 7 and lets players decide which facilities and units to destroy, in what order and when to return to supply lines to reload. Flammable tanks and downed aircraft can trigger chain reactions that destroy nearby structures.
The newly revealed threats include Megafloat Fatsia, a six-kilometre military artificial island, and Tonitrus Spear, a kinetic attack satellite. LanzaBit has added the new trailer and these details to the game page without changing its confirmed date or platforms.
