Beast of Reincarnation is available from August 4, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Game Freak's new action RPG also joins Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass on day one.
Set in a post-apocalyptic Japan in the year 4026, the adventure combines Emma's real-time swordplay, ranged weapons and plant powers with Koo's tactical abilities, selected through a command menu that briefly slows the action.
At publication, Beast of Reincarnation holds a provisional 73/100 Metascore from 50 reviews. Critics frequently praise the coordinated combat, mobility, art direction and melancholy atmosphere.
Criticism focuses on uneven pacing, repetition in environments and enemies, limited boss variety and progression systems that some reviewers found less deep than expected. The score may change as more reviews are added.
