The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 beta begins August 21, 2026, immediately after the Call of Duty: NEXT broadcast. This first period is early access for players who pre-ordered the game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S or PC, and remains available through August 25.
The test includes several multiplayer maps and modes, new Operators and up to 19 unlockable weapons. Activision has confirmed 3v3 matches, large-scale tactical battles with vehicles, returning modes such as Search & Destroy, and new additions including Kill Block and the Mobility Course.
The second period is a free open beta from August 28 through September 1. Any player on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC or Nintendo Switch 2 can participate without a pre-order. The Switch 2 edition requires an active Nintendo Switch Online membership.
Modern Warfare 4 pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 begin August 26. The full game remains scheduled for October 23, 2026, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC; LanzaBit's game page keeps that date and every confirmed platform together.
