Control Resonant details Manhattan, Dylan's combat and its colossal bosses

Remedy expands its paranatural sequel with focused sandboxes, a shape-shifting weapon, new traversal powers and the imposing Resonants.

Dylan Faden recorre la Manhattan deformada de Control Resonant

Remedy Entertainment has provided an extensive look at Control Resonant ahead of its September 24, 2026, launch. The full sequel leaves the Oldest House behind and takes Dylan Faden into a Manhattan warped by paranatural forces as he searches for his sister Jesse.

The city is not structured as a traditional open world. It is divided into focused exploration zones featuring main missions, side stories, missing-person investigations and timed arcade challenges. Dylan can double jump, elevate, air dash and unlock a grappling hook through the so-called Jesse Quests.

Combat is more melee-oriented than in the first game. The Aberrant weapon shifts between six primary and secondary forms, supports effects such as burn and infect, and can be combined with skill trees and additional powers. Melee attacks restore the energy needed to deploy shields, projectile barrages or allies assembled from environmental objects.

The Resonants are large-scale encounters that will not always follow a traditional boss-fight structure. Remedy is also retaining the original's horror and reality distortions, adding dialogue choices and presenting Dylan as a more vulnerable protagonist. LanzaBit has updated the game page with these details while preserving its previously confirmed date and platforms.
