Final Fantasy XIV Online launches today, August 4, 2026, on Nintendo Switch 2. Square Enix offers the Starter Edition, Complete Edition, Complete Collector's Edition and the Dawntrail expansion for players beginning or continuing their adventure in Eorzea.
The Switch 2 version shares worlds with the other platforms. Existing players can keep their characters and progress by signing in with the same Square Enix account, although they need the corresponding license for Nintendo's new console.
Square Enix has established an initial period of approximately one month to monitor service stability. Nintendo Switch Online is not required, but Final Fantasy XIV retains its own subscription after the included play time expires.
