SNK has announced Metal Slug Ultimate Collection, a compilation created to celebrate the series' 30th anniversary. The package brings together ten titles spanning its arcade, console and handheld history.
Its biggest addition is the original Metal Slug Location Test version. The collection marks the first time this build, used to test the game in arcades before launch and never officially released, can be played on a home console.
The collection adds configurable button layouts, rapid-fire speed, difficulty and time settings, along with infinite ammunition, mission selection, rewind and quick save/load. Combat School, score and clear-time rankings, replays, a visual gallery and a sound player are also included, although available features vary by title.
SNK has confirmed Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch, with an official 2027 window. The exact day is still unannounced, so LanzaBit keeps the calendar free of an estimated date.
