SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have introduced the cast surrounding Makoto Daito in STRANGER THAN HEAVEN. Yu Shirota plays the protagonist and Dean Fujioka portrays his travelling companion Yu Shinjo, while Snoop Dogg appears as Orpheus, the merchant who recognizes Daito's musical talent and shows him the realities of life in Japan.
The story spans five cities and five eras between 1915 and 1965. Ado plays Keiko Shirai, a diva in wartime Osaka; Tori Kelly portrays singer Suzy Day; and Cordell Broadus appears as a mysterious figure stationed in post-war Japan. Akio Otsuka, Moeka Hoshi, Takaya Kuroda and other Japanese performers also join the cast.
The character Amaru will feature Tupac Shakur's likeness with the permission and ongoing supervision of his estate. The studio says it used photographs and archival footage to build the design without artificial intelligence. Bunta Sugawara will likewise appear through a recreation approved by his family and based on materials supplied by Toei, with Takashi Ukaji voicing the character.
STRANGER THAN HEAVEN remains scheduled for January 15, 2027, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The Xbox edition supports Play Anywhere, cloud gaming and day-one Game Pass. LanzaBit has updated the game page without changing its date or extending the platform list beyond confirmed systems.
