KOEI TECMO and Team NINJA have set Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember for March 4, 2027, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. The sequel will also be available through Game Pass on day one.
A free alpha demo is playable now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC until September 30; Nintendo Switch 2 is not included in this test. It features part of the Changban battlefield, character creation and online co-op for up to three players. Defeating Wuzhiqi unlocks the Fledgling Phoenix Helmet in the full game when the save is kept on the same platform and account.
Combat retains the original's deflections and Chinese martial arts while adding Insight Skills for evasion, counterattacks and environmental moves. Battlefields are more open and let players flank enemy forces, capture bases, set traps or recruit rival officers.
The story again combines figures from the Three Kingdoms with demons inspired by classical Chinese literature. Characters from the first Wo Long keep important roles, although Team NINJA says the adventure is also designed for newcomers entering the series through this sequel.
