Microsoft has announced another Xbox reorganization that confirms two projects without final titles. Activision will develop the next Halo through a purpose-built team separate from its Call of Duty plans. A smaller group at Halo Studios will continue supporting the community and current games.

Bethesda's structure will expand to include Obsidian Entertainment. The studio will continue its current work — including Grounded — while collaborating with Bethesda Game Studios on a new Fallout project. Microsoft has not yet disclosed its format, platforms or launch window.

Playground Games and Turn 10 will also become one studio focused on Forza and Fable. Compulsion Games, Double Fine and Undead Labs have become independent while retaining their properties; State of Decay 3 is still scheduled to launch into Game Pass through a new publisher.

The restructuring eliminates 268 roles across Halo Studios, other internal teams and Xbox Game Studios management. Microsoft is also proposing to close Ninja Theory after two separate deals fell through, while consultation concerning Arkane remains underway. LanzaBit has created pages for the new Halo and Fallout without inventing titles, platforms or dates.
